Tom Hardy is an actor with an incredibly versatile range.
In his nearly 30-year-long career, he’s played gangsters, supervillains, and an evil clone of the great Star Trek captain ever.
But the 48-year-old star of stage and screen’s latest career move proves that Tom still has the capacity to surprise his fans.
On Friday, Hardy allegedly released a rap album titled Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer, under the pseudonym Frankie Pulitzer.
The album was made in collaboration with the group Czarface, which includes Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck and rap duo 7L & Esoteric.
For those who like movies, TV and comics, the album will be an absolute treat, as it’s a smorgasbord of pop culture references.
Songs on the album mention the likes of the Green Goblin,Thor, Shakespeare, Stephen King books, and Doctor Doom.
Tom even does his legendary Bane voice on another track, titled Grim-Visaged War.’
It also features collabs with artists like Busta Rhymes and Method Man.
Those who keep an eye on the rap game will know that Frankie Pulitzer has been working with Czarface since 2021, and there have long been rumours that the A-list star was the masked rapper.
And while Tom has never spoken publicly about the Pulitzer persona, he has been very open about the fact that he’s been rapping from a young age.
‘Because I come from a nice middle-class neighbourhood, it was a very hard sell. And I wasn’t very good!’ he told the BBC in 2011 (via Page 6).
‘I’ve recorded loads of stuff, but it’s never been released.’
That news seems to have passed his fans by, though, and they’ve made their surprise known on Reddit.
‘Wait… Wait, ‘ wrote xicer. ‘The Frankie Pulitzer in the new “Czarface ft Frankie Pulitzer” that showed up on my feed is f****** Tom Hardy?!’
