Krispy Kreme’s latest doughnut collection is giving us a major dose of nostalgia.
To celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary (how is that possible?!), the doughnut chain is releasing six new sweet treats inspired by the franchise’s beloved characters.
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, Krispy Kreme will debut doughnuts featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Jigglypuff, plus a bonus Poké Ball Doughnut.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been three decades since kids were first introduced to Ash Ketchum and his adorable sidekick, Pikachu. After Pokémon trading cards debuted in the 1990s, the imaginary universe quickly expanded to a cartoon, merchandise and more.

Don’t want to miss out on the sugary, supercharged fun? Krispy Kreme customers can preorder Pokémon doughnuts by the dozen starting Aug. 13.
When the collection officially debuts on Aug. 18, it will be available for a limited time in shops and for pickup/delivery in the chain’s app/website. Customers can purchase the doughnuts individually and by the dozen.
The collection will be available in a custom Pokémon Dozen box at participating shops and a six-pack box in select retailers.

As part of the collection, Krispy Kreme is also debuting special-edition Pokémon cups available in five exclusive Pokémon designs. Each cup will be filled with 10 Original Glazed Gold Dots (aka mini doughnuts).
On Saturday, Aug. 22, Krispy Kreme customers who show up to their participating shops wearing Pokémon attire will score a free Original Glazed Doughnut. The single-use offer is available in shops and at the drive-thru.
