After seven seasons, Studio 6A at 30 Rock wrapped the final episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
The series finale of the daytime variety talk show aired on Aug. 31. This concluding episode comes after Clarkson’s announcement in February, which pointed to her shifting focus to raising her two children, River Rose and Remy, who were in the audience and made her emotional as the show came to an end.
She first expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be welcomed into the home of millions, noting how her children have always been her priority.
“My kiddos have always come first. They’re a big reason I did this show, just the stability, the schedule,” she said. “And they’re also a big reason it’s time to say goodbye.
“I’m such a proud momma. They’re the greatest kids in the world. When we started, River was in kindergarten. She’s now about to be in middle school, crazy. My son Remington, he had his singing debut on stage with the band, little Frank Sinatra,” she continued, before showing footage of their first time on the show on Nov. 15, 2019.
Clarkson then asked her children what were their favorite moments of being on the show.
Remy shared that he liked talking to Jason Momoa and “singing ‘My Way’ with the band.”
When it came to River, she made Clarkson tear up with her response: “I like watching you shine every single day.”
As the audience “awed,” Clarkson said, “Oh no, everything is fine. That’s so sweet! OK, you got me. You just opened me on my own show. I love you, too.”
She then invited them to the stage with her, thanking the entire crew and guests that made her show possible.
“I end each episode by saying, ‘Have a great day, and if it’s not, change it.’ I say that because while we have to accept that life is totally out of our control, each moment, though, truly depends on how we choose to respond and react to it,” she said. “You don’t have to attend the negative party you were invited to. I’ve been told by a therapist, so there you go.”
“The Kelly Clarkson Show” first premiered in 2019, originally filmed in Los Angeles. Clarkson and the crew took the show to New York City in 2023 to kick off their fourth season.
From coast to coast, the “American Idol” winner’s show became known for Clarkson’s warm and honest celebrity interviews, spotlights on standout community members through human-interest segments like “Rad Human” and “Good Neighbors,” as well as games, and of course, “Kellyoke,” which opened every show on an upbeat and impressive note.
To no surprise, “Kellyoke” in particular was always a signature of Clarkson’s programming.
During the series finale, she opened with what she described as “the most requested Kellyoke” song ever: “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters.”
