Strange Scaffold has announced that its critically acclaimed first-person arcade shooter, I Am Your Beast, is coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 20. Alongside the console release, the developer will also launch a new story expansion, I Am Your Beast: Quitting Time, for PC on the same day. Console versions of the DLC will arrive later.
Set in Southeast Asia, Quitting Time serves as a full prequel to the original game, taking players back to the earlier days of covert agent Alphonse Harding. Before the events of I Am Your Beast, Harding still believes in the military-industrial complex and trusts his handler, Colonel Charles Burkin. He also thinks that taking part in a secret war against the Patriotic Defense League will ultimately help make the world a better place. Of course, players already know that Harding’s faith is about to be tested.
The original I Am Your Beast puts players in the role of a retired secret agent, and they must fight back against the forces hunting him across the North American wilderness. Its fast-paced combat encourages players to grab weapons from defeated enemies and use the environment to their advantage across short, highly replayable levels.
The game first launched on Steam, GOG, and itch.io in September 2024, followed by iOS in February 2025 and PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in June 2025. With the Switch release and a new prequel on the way, I Am Your Beast is giving fans another reason to jump back into the action.
