A stretch of the M60 motorway in Greater Manchester was closed due to a 'police incident' today (Wednesday, August 5).
Traffic was building on the M60 clockwise between J3 A34 Kingsway and J7 A56 Chester Road (Stretford).
The motorway reopened at around 5.40pm, with delays now easing.
National Highways said: "Traffic has been released on the M60 clockwise between J5 Manchester and J6 Stretford following an earlier Police led incident. There are no significant delays or congestion in the area. Have a safe journey onwards."
Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Queueing traffic due to earlier police incident on M60 clockwise between J3 A34 Kingsway and J7 A56 Chester Road (Stretford). Congestion to just after J1 (Stockport Pyramid), with traffic slowing on the opposite past the scene due to onlookers. The A5103 Princess Parkway is also slow heading north on approach to J5.
"Cameras show the road has fully reopened for a police incident that was located between J5 and J6."
Traffic has now cleared on the M60 clockwise after the earlier police incident.

The road has now fully reopened, with traffic still queueing following the earlier incident, according to an update from Inrix.
