SEGA and RGG Studio have announced a major milestone for STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, revealing that the upcoming action-adventure title has surpassed 1 million wishlist entries across all platforms. Even more impressive, the achievement comes more than four months before the game’s scheduled launch on January 15, 2027.
For RGG Studio, this milestone makes STRANGER THAN HEAVEN the most wishlisted game in the studio’s history before release, highlighting the growing anticipation surrounding its ambitious new project.
Besides the announcement, there is also a new Cast & Story Reveal trailer, offering a deeper look at the game’s characters and emotional narrative. Rather than focusing on a single period, the story unfolds across 50 years and follows men searching for purpose, belonging, and a place they can truly call home.
Players will travel through five different cities and eras of modern Japan, blending intense hand-to-hand combat with an unusual twist: musical talent also plays a key role. As an organizer, players will use music to build connections and progress through the story, creating a unique mix of action and character-driven gameplay.
STRANGER THAN HEAVEN launches on January 15, 2027, for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam, and PlayStation 5.
