Nine were let go and nine more reassigned as CD Projekt Red shifts strategy

CD Projekt Red's Witcher multiplayer game, known internally as Project Sirius, has suffered another round of layoffs.

According to a new report from Kotaku, nine people were let go from the Project Sirius team, with a further nine moved to other projects within the studio as part of a broader shift in development strategy.

CD Projekt Red had not responded to press requests for comment at the time of writing.

Project Sirius was announced in October 2022 as a co-op and single-player Witcher spin-off developed by The Molasses Flood, the Boston studio CDPR acquired in 2021. The project was rescoped in 2023 alongside a round of 29 layoffs. The Molasses Flood was fully absorbed into CDPR proper in April 2025.

The news comes as Supermassive Games similarly announced a third round of layoffs earlier today, potentially impacting up to 75 positions.
