Nagpur University (NU) Vice-Chancellor Manali Kshirsagar on Saturday said all pending Summer 2026 examination results will be declared by August 15.
The university aims to announce over 300 pending results, including several final-year exams, within the next two weeks.The delay has affected students seeking admission to postgraduate courses at universities outside NU.
Clarifying reports about the state government’s July 31 deadline, Kshirsagar said it was only a target, not a mandatory deadline. “The higher and technical education minister had asked universities to make every effort to declare results on time,” she said, adding that delays have occurred at several universities across Maharashtra.
The VC attributed the delay to technical issues arising from the appointment of new software vendors for the examination process. However, she stressed that there was no systemic failure and that the university conducted the Summer 2026 examinations on schedule.
Comparing the current situation with the previous examination cycle, Kshirsagar said the university has made significant progress. During the Winter 2025 examinations, more than 600 results were declared beyond the 45-day timeline. This year, only around 50 examinations have crossed the deadline, while most pending Summer 2026 results are still within the prescribed time limit.
Kshirsagar also confirmed that the Winter 2026 examinations will begin on October 3 as per the academic calendar. She dismissed concerns that delayed summer results would affect the winter schedule, saying the university would ensure the academic calendar remains on track while completing the mandatory 90-day teaching period.
The university has also started providing soft copies of Tabulation Registers (TRs) to affiliated colleges, enabling them to access students’ results immediately instead of waiting for physical copies.
Responding to criticism over repeated examination-related issues, the VC urged people not to unnecessarily tarnish the university’s image, saying negative publicity ultimately harms students graduating from NU.
She also said she would approach the University Grants Commission (UGC) after August 5 with detailed data on pending PhD guide approvals and related issues that have affected research scholars over the past few years.
