The counting of votes for assembly bupolls in three states will begin today at 8 am. Voting for all three assembly seats—Bankipur in Bihar, Datia in Madhya Pradesh, and Manjalpur in Gujarat—went to polls on July 30. Notably, all focus will be on Bankipur and Datia, as these two setas are considered strongholds of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Bankipur was earlier represented by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, while Datia has traditionally been a strong political base of former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra.

– The counting of votes will begin at 8:00 am today across all three assembly constitutencies in the three states.
The Bankipur seat witnessed a tough contest between BJP’s Neeraj Kumar Sinha, RJD’s Rekha Gupta, and Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor. In the 2025 assembly polls, Kishor’s newly formed party even failed to open its account. The former political strategist is making his electoral debut from this seat.
During the election period, Kishor had raised questions over police action. Addressing a press conference on Sunday (August 2), Kishor alleged that the JSP workers were detained by the police at various locations.
Meanwhile, in Datia, BJP’s Ashutosh Tiwari contested against Congress’s Ghanshyam Singh.
In Gujarat’s Majalpur, only two candidates are in the fray—BJP’s Satendrabhai Patel and Bhikhabhai Rabari of the Congress.
