TAKAMATSU, Japan — As more tourists from abroad flock to the western Japanese island of Shikoku, drawn by its Buddhist heritage and natural beauty, an effort is underway to revive shukubo temple lodgings used by pilgrims traveling along the Shikoku Henro pilgrimage route.
