DC fans are convinced the DCU's Wonder Woman will be played by Adria Arjona after she posted a video of her workout routine ahead of Man of Tomorrow.
As the DCU navigates its ups and downs, all eyes are on DC Studios co-CEO and director James Gunn to deliver next year's Superman sequel. Arjona is just one part of the equation that will help bring David Corenswet's Last Son of Krypton back to the big screen, but fans think she knows more than she's letting on when it comes to the part she'll play in the wider DCU.
Mixed in with a variety of other superhero parts – including Milly Alcock's Supergirl, Aaron Pierre's John Stewart, and Xolo Maridueña as Blue Beetle – Arjona was previously said to be playing the role of DC deep cut Maxima. She reportedly landed the part in April of this year, but fans think Gunn and company are misleading fans in hopes of a big Sadie Sink/Spider-Man-style surprise with Man of Tomorrow.
Rumors that her role would eventually be revealed as Wonder Woman surfaced shortly after her casting, but nothing has stoked the flames quite like a video posted by Women's Health yesterday. The seven-minute highlight showed Arjona's "intense boxing and strength workout," letting viewers peek into how she trains for the parts she plays. Although she explicitly mentioned that training helped her prepare to play Celeste in Onslaught, a later segment brings her rumored DC career into focus.
"I've never felt strong, but it's hard," Arjona said as headlines related to Wonder Woman rumors flased on the screen. "Well, I think the excitement of playing the woman I'm playing gives me everything I need to wake up. Physically, it's exhausting, but it's all for the better good. The better good? Is that English? The greater good!"
The emphasis, of course, is on "the woman I'm playing." The footage of her intense workout routine coupled with that one specific line has turned everyday rumors into a full-blown whirlwind of speculation, and fans aren't letting up.

"Really makes you wonder what woman she's playing," one fan said.
"Like come on man," another added. "This is Wonder Woman."
"Again, we all know she is Wonder Woman but it would be so hilarious if she was doing all this for Maxima," another person joked.
The internet thinks Arjona at least already looks like she could feasibly weild the Lasso of Truth as Diana Prince, but she's not been confirmed to play Wonder Woman just yet. However, it's that very mystery that has fans all riled up – but some of Gunn's comments aren't helping, either.
In July 2025, nearly one year before Arjona joined the Man of Tomorrow cast, fans caught wind that the DC director had started following the actress on Instagram. What was written off as a reach then has now been reassessed, and Gunn's comments at the time might be very telling when it comes to the future of the DCU.
Honestly that’s a good way to tell if you made a great casting decision when you announce Adria Arjona is in the film and everyone immediately clocks that it’s for Wonder Woman lol
