Windsor police say they’re searching for a high-speed hit-and-run driver who fled after striking a 17-year girl walking across Howard Avenue.

Officers responded to a call about a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 9. Police said it happened in the 2600 block of Howard.
Investigators said four teenagers were crossing the road when a vehicle heading south at a high rate of speed struck a 17-year-old girl. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
On Friday, police released photos of the car taken from surveillance footage. Windsor police said the car involved in the hit-and-run has been described as a newer model grey Ford Escape.
Investigators are asking residents and drivers in the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence, specifically between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on August 9.
