Highlights: England ease to huge win against Pakistan on day three at Headingley
Interim coach Marcus Trescothick praised Joe Root's calming influence on his return as England's Test captain in the first-Test win over Pakistan.
Root's second stint as Test skipper was given the ideal start with victory by an innings and 103 runs at Headingley.
It follows a tumultuous period which has included the Ashes defeat by Australia, off-field issues, the resignation of Ben Stokes as captain and the sacking of coach Brendon McCullum.
Trescothick, who was an assistant under Stokes and McCullum, said England tried to take the "best bits" from the previous regime but are "not Brendon and Ben".
"We're very much the style of what we want to do," the former opener said.
"[Stokes and Root] talk differently, they speak in a different way in terms of their style of approaches.
"You saw some things with Joe which were really exciting and really calming at the same time because it needed that influence on it at the moment.
"Maybe be a little bit more simple with some of the plans, a bit more clear direction of going 'this is how we want to bowl' and how he manages the individuals behind the scenes also."

After taking a wicket with the first ball of the Test, England dominated Pakistan across two and a half rain-affected days.
They appeared more measured in their approach than during the ultra-aggressive Stokes-McCullum regime, but still scored at 4.55 runs per over – albeit against a poor Pakistan side.
"We played to the fashion that we wanted to," Trescothick said.
