Fleetwood Huey, FRANKLIN, Gnarwhal, VIOLET NIGHT and more will play the festival from October 1 to 3
Victoria's BreakOut West Festival and Conference is returning for another year of festivities this fall, and its first wave of performers has just been announced.
Running from October 1 to 3 across multiple venues throughout the city, over 50 Canadian and international artists are expected to play this year's festival.
UPDATE (8/19, 1:09 p.m. ET): Joining the festival lineup in the third wave are Julia Vos, Nuela Charles, Hope Slide, Show Pony, Zrada, Hughes, Beau Nectar, John from Dawson, Emilie Landry, Braden Lam, Quoia States, Edwin Raphael, Fine Food Market, FJØRT and Mace the Great.
"We are thrilled to bring this year's festival and conference to Victoria. It's such a beautiful city, steeped in music history and we know it will make a perfect host for artists and industry," Michael Dawson, BreakOut West Executive Director, shared in a release. "In addition to today's exciting artist announcement, we are also mixing things up a little bit this year. Festival wristband holders will now have access to a special Hall of Fame induction, the Meridian Prize announcement, and the Western Canadian Music Awards celebration on top of 3 incredible nights of music discovery."
Leading the first wave are Art d'Ecco, Belle Plaine, bitterfly, daysormay, Fleetwood Huey, FRANKLIN, Gnarwhal, Grace Clark, INGIA, Jaiden Riley, Jed and the Valentine, OSANI, Neighbour Andy, Robert Adam, Teagan Littlechief, the Bankes Brothers, Tk the Artist and VIOLET NIGHT.
In addition to live music, the festival will include a five-day career development conference and industry program that will offer immersive content, market deep dives, mentor meetings, workshops and more.
