VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed a pair of players, adding Guinean striker Yadaly Diaby and Angolan defender Rui Modesto to their lineup.
Diaby, 26, comes to the ‘Caps via a transfer from Ligue 2 side Grenoble Foot 38 in France where he had three goals and one assist over 21 total appearances.
The six-foot-one, 170-pound forward has agreed to a contract through the 2029-30 Major League Soccer season, with a club option the 2030-31 campaign.
The Whitecaps picked up Modesto in a transfer from Italy’s Serie A side Udinese.
The 26-year-old right back has also inked a deal through the 2029-30 MLS season, with a club option for 2030-31.
Modesto is coming off a loan with Serie B club Palermo in Italy, where he made 10 appearances, tallying a goal and an assist.
