A massive storm ripped through the Windsor region Thursday afternoon, tearing the roof from one house and carrying it a block away onto another home.

The hardest hit area was east Windsor, where Sandra Smith pulled up to her Ford Boulevard home to find the remains of someone else’s roof scattered across her driveway and the neighbour’s lawn.
The roof came from a house a block away on Buckingham Drive, where the violent storm tore away much of the roof and a wall, leaving the interior exposed to the elements as police blocked off the streets.
“Of course, your first thought is: Is everyone okay?” said Smith. ” But then my second was: Oh my gosh, like where did that even come from? So apparently, a roof from the other street flew across and took down the brick fence and my garage doors and the front of the neighbour’s house. Super scary.”

A large section of the roof landed on the front of Nicole Brieda’s house, burying her yard beneath a mountain of shattered plywood, shingles, insulation and brick.
“Oh my god, I don’t even know where to start with all this debris,” she said.
