The United States and Iran have resumed trading fire, with reports a ship hit mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
American forces attacked two rocket launchers on Larak Island, which U.S Central Command described as limited, precise action" against "minelaying forces posing an imminent threat in the Strait of Hormuz".
Iran said "several" people had been killed and injured.
The IRGC said: "The American-Zionist enemy has once again sought to revive its sinister role based on its desperation to resolve domestic problems and diminish its credibility among regional countries. This action will be responded to by the children of Islamic Iran and will result in the punishment of the aggressor."
The last time the US military confirmed targeting Iran was on July 29, when it announced a “heavy wave of strikes” on dozens of Revolutionary Guard targets including coastal surveillance and defence sites.
In response Iran said targeted the King Hussein and Al-Azraq U.S bases in Jordan with drones and ballistic missiles, as well as the Al-Minhad base in the UAE.
The UAE said the latter had not been hit, but it had shot down a drone.
The IRGC also claimed that an oil tanker had hit two mines in strait after attempting to pass on a non-approved route.
It said in a statement: "A few hours ago, a rogue supertanker that was attempting to pass through the illegal route south of the Strait of Hormuz, was hit by two sea mines and caught fire, causing it to completely stop.
"The IRGC Navy once again warns that the fate of ships that violate the security regulations of the Strait of Hormuz will be no different.
"It is mandatory to comply with the regulations issued by the IRGC Navy for passage and navigation. Shipping companies should not be deceived by the provocations of the child-killing American army and should not unnecessarily expose the property and lives of their ships' crews to destruction."
U.S Central Command previously said it had removed mines from the waterway and was in control of shipping.
President Donald Trump has not yet commented on the resumption of strikes, but did post an AI-generated video to his Truth Social platform of Kharg Island, a crucial Iranian oil production facility in the Strait of Hormuz being "blown to smithereens".
