Tony Goldwyn is going to be a grandpa and he couldn’t be happier.
The “Scandal” star’s daughter Anna Musky-Goldwyn is expecting her first child with husband Billy Durden. The writer shared the exciting news on her Instagram, along with a slew of photos of her baby bump and sonogram.
“New project, currently (and probably forever) known as Goobey, debuts next month,” she captioned the joint post with Durden, before seemingly confirming it’s a girl. “We expect her to be a hit.”
In the comments section, Goldwyn expressed his excitement for his first grandchild, sharing that he’s already proudly printed out a copy of the sonogram.
“We already have her picture up on the mantle (ultrasounds look good these days),” he wrote, adding a heart-eyes emoji.
Goldwyn’s former “Scandal” co-stars Bellamy Young and Katie Lowes also commented on Musky-Goldwyn’s post.
Young wrote, “I can’t wait to meet Goobey!!!!!!!!!,” along with many red hearts and smiling faces with hearts emoji.
Lowes added, “Aaaaah!!!! Yayayay! Congrats!!!!”
Goldwyn shares Musky-Goldwyn and daughter Tess Goldwyn with wife and production designer Jane Musky. The couple have been married since 1987, welcoming Musky-Goldwyn in 1990 and Tess Goldwyn in 1995.
In a 2019 interview with TODAY, the “Hacks” actor spoke about his then-32-year marriage and shared how he knew Musky was the one.
“Jane is just the most incredible human being that I know,” he said. “I knew when I was 21 when I met her that I’d better hang on because I’ll never come across this again.”
When asked why he thinks they’ve had such a successful and long marriage, he told Hoda Kotb that during difficult times, they would ask each other: “Are you willing to work on this?”
He added that “it takes both people to look at each other” and mutually agree to talk things out.
