Fluxionary Studios has officially unveiled Time Distortionists, a turn-based strategy game that puts players in charge of protecting thirteen billion years of history. Alongside the announcement, the developer has released a new trailer and opened the game’s official Steam page.
In Time Distortionists, players operate The Anchor, a mysterious facility suspended outside causality. From this unusual base, they will scan different points in history, investigate collapsing eras, deploy specialized agents, and build infrastructure to prevent a force known as Stasis from consuming the timeline.
The catch is that every decision has consequences. Saving one civilization could create problems somewhere else, while resources and available agents remain limited. Players will have to carefully choose which crises to address, knowing that it is impossible to save everything.
Players can explore moments ranging from the beginning of the universe to the distant future and send different specialists, including Chronautes, Thaumaturgists, Mediators, Archivists, and Catalysts, on missions. They can also expand The Anchor, establish installations across history, form alliances with civilizations, and recruit agents from different eras.
The game also features competing philosophies centered on preservation, controlled chaos, and understanding, offering players different approaches to navigating the timeline and the mysterious Stillness.
Time Distortionists is still in development and will launch on Steam at a later date. The new trailer offers an intriguing first look at its ambitious take on time-travel strategy.
For players who enjoy strategy games with a strong sci-fi twist, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
