A new trailer has been released for The Grand Tour ahead of all six episodes launching on Prime Video on September 4 – and fans are impressed.

The show is roaring back onto screens with viral train-spotter Francis Bourgeois, YouTuber James Engelsman and motoring journalist Thomas Holland taking over from Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

The new trailer showed the trio getting into a series of hilarious scenarios and getting themselves into silly scrapes.

One moment sees Francis going for a big car reveal removing a vehicle cover before struggling to actually get it off as the others break down laughing.

While in another scene the group are kayaking, and as James tries to get into his boat he ends up lying on his front. Thomas then calls over: 'What riding position are you going for?' – to which James cheekily replies back: 'Missionary I guess…'.

In their first series at The Grand Tour wheel, Francis, James and Thomas tackle the big, important motoring questions of our time, including: can you sneak undetected across Colorado in a trio of Japanese microcars?

As well as: what's the most unbreakable car in history? And: if you urgently need to put something onto the head of F1 driver Alex Albon is there anything quicker to get it there than a Pagani hypercar?

Featuring guest appearances from Jeremy, Richard, James and F1 World Champion Jenson Button, the series will also see them travel around the world.

The team visit California to test out the latest, greatest American muscle cars – the Ford Mustang GTD, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, and $2.75million, 2000-horsepower Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Evolution – by taking on a bunch of fighter jets.

Elsewhere, Francis, James and Thomas head to Malaysia to delve into the nation's rich car culture while also investigating just how little you can spend on a sports car without it immediately blowing up.

They also journey through the desert of Angola in track-cars utterly unsuited for the job.

Fans were quick to share their excitement over the trailer as they penned online: 'I can't believe I'm saying this but I think this has a chance to work.,'
