Solo developer L0rne has unveiled the official announcement trailer for Teufelskreis, an occult-themed roguelite deckbuilder that puts a strange tactical spin on roulette. Instead of simply betting on numbers, players will have to outsmart the house while uncovering the mystery behind a sinister corporate contract.
In Teufelskreis, players find themselves bound to an employment contract with the mysterious OPCORP, leaving them with little choice but to gamble for their survival. Each roulette spin becomes a high-stakes encounter, with both the player and the house placing their own wagers.
The game combines push-your-luck roulette mechanics with deckbuilding and roguelite progression. Players can build a customizable tarot deck capable of changing bets, manipulating payouts, and even bending the rules of the roulette table. They can also collect artifacts to further alter how the table behaves, giving players more ways to shape each run.
Alongside its gameplay systems, Teufelskreis features an unfolding occult mystery surrounding OPCORP and the contract that has trapped the player. Route choices and roguelite progression will also determine how each run develops.
L0rne is developing Teufelskreis solo using Godot. The announcement trailer features music by Alex Peipman, who is also composing the game’s full original soundtrack. Peipman previously worked on the Buckshot Roulette multiplayer soundtrack and Machine Party.
Teufelskreis is planned for Windows, macOS, and native Linux, with Steam Deck support expected at launch. A release date has yet to be announced.
With its unusual mix of roulette, tarot cards, and occult mystery, Teufelskreis certainly looks like one to keep an eye on.
