A Skins star has revealed that she earns more on OnlyFans than she did on the popular E4 show.
Megan Prescott shot to fame in 2009 when she was cast as Katie Fitch in the teen drama.
She starred alongside Kaya Scoderlario, Jack O’Connell, and her identical twin Kathryn Prescott in the third and fourth seasons.
The 35-year-old went on to star in episodes of Silent Witness, Doctors and EastEnders but turned to the site in 2020 after struggling to make ends meet during the pandemic.
Speaking to The Sun, Prescott said: “I’d spent so many years in acting, trying to get things moving and nothing [was] happening.”
Left with just ÂŁ300 in her bank account and missing out on furlough whilst working at a distillery on a zero-hours contract, Prescott began uploading adult content to the site after her friends encouraged her to.
“Going on OnlyFans and realising all this content that I was making for free, people would pay for and people would like to pay for, just changed my entire point of view and it really did improve my creative outputs.”
She explained that the money generated from her OnlyFans account has helped finance her other acting projects, including writing and starring in her own play, Really Good Exposure, something she believes she “never” would have been able to do.
The actor charges ÂŁ11 per month for nude content and personalised videos, and has revealed that she now earns three times her Skins salary.
Prescott said that she believes more mainstream actors will turn to sites like OnlyFans to help them generate money for their own projects.
She added that she thinks that other actors could be jealous of the “freedom that I do have”.
“Mainstream acting, you aren’t anywhere near as free to make your own decisions.”
