Romy Reiner followed in her late father Rob Reiner’s footsteps by appearing on Larry David’s “Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.”
The elder Reiner made a posthumous cameo in the sketch show in an episode that aired July 3, months after his shocking death. He played George Washington.
Romy Reiner, meanwhile, guest-starred in the series finale on Aug. 7 as a nurse caring for President William Henry Harrison (Fred Melamed).
Romy Reiner’s appearance comes five years after she got her big break in 2021 playing a cashier on David’s HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” David was one of Rob Reiner’s close friends.
The 28-year-old actor is the youngest child of the legendary actor and director and his late wife Michele Singer.
The couple, who were married for 36 years, were found fatally stabbed at home on Dec. 14, 2025, according to the L.A. district attorney’s office.
Their youngest son, Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested and charged Dec. 16 with two counts of first degree murder. In February, Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Reiners also shared an older son, Jake Reiner, 35, who posted a heartbreaking tribute to his parents in an April 24 post on Substack.
Rob Reiner was also the father of an adoptive daughter, Tracy Reiner, with his ex-wife, actor and director Penny Marshall.
In his essay on Substack, Jake Reiner revealed he was at a friend’s celebration of life in Los Angeles when his sister called to tell him their parents were dead.
“The 45-minute Lyft ride from downtown to the west side was unendurable,” he wrote. “My world, as I knew it, had collapsed. I was in a trance. The only thing I could focus on was that I needed to get to my childhood home. I needed to get to my sister. I needed to figure out what the hell just happened.”
Jake Reiner wrote about his grief that his parents won’t be alive to witness future milestones in his life.
“My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t get to see me have the successful career I’m still seeking,” he wrote. “It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me.”
Rob Reiner, who was 78 when he died, was the son of comedy legend Carl Reiner. He found fame in the early 1970s playing Michael “Meathead” Stivic on the sitcom “All in the Family.”
He went on to become one of Hollywood’s most beloved directors, helming the cult classic “This Is Spinal Tap” as well as the box office hits “Stand By Me,” “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally,” “Misery” and “A Few Good Men.”
