With its robust offering of channels, including those with free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) programming, it’s a nice option to have in this oversaturated and increasingly expensive streaming market. But enshittification comes for us all, and Roku is sadly no exception.

Last week, Cord Cutters News spotted that Roku quietly added a new channel called Fairground AI. As the name suggests, it features AI-generated content. And because it’s free, it runs ads, which are also AI-generated. (“Yo dawg, we heard you like AI slop, so we put AI slop inside of your AI slop.”)

Per Variety, Fairground AI hails from Colin Petrie-Norris, the founder of the streaming service Xumo. The company says it offers the world’s first-ever FAST channel “devoted to AI cinema” that features content from “over 100 of the best AI filmmakers from around the world.” Of course, that is a hilarious thing to boast about, especially since there is no such thing as an AI “filmmaker” in any true sense of the word.

But hey, Elon Musk and his fellow AI-pilled losers can get excited about all of the “films” that Fairground AI will feature.
