Sir Rod Stewart scrapped his show in Niagara Falls, Canada on Tuesday amid concerns over the aircraft that would be taking him to the event. The rocker, 81, apologised to his fans after cancelling his concert just hours before he was due to take to the stage. It comes just weeks after the legendary performer called off another show due to health issues.

The crooner broke the news on his Instagram Stories in a post that read: "Important information about tonight's show. Due to a mechanical fault with the aircraft's landing gear, Rod Stewart is regretfully unable to travel to Niagara Falls and must postpone tonight's performance at Fallsview Casino Resort. Rod is deeply disappointed and apologises to fans for the inconvenience."

The statement explained plans to reschedule the show at some point next year, writing: "He looks forward to returning for the rescheduled performance on Thursday, March 4, 2027 where he promises to make it up to his fans. Purchased tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Existing complimentary reservations will be cancelled."

The show has been rescheduled for March 4, 2027, and tickets will be honoured for the new date.

Fans took to social media and expressed their disappoinment, as an X user fumed: "Drove from Toronto to Niagara Falls… And @rodstewart cancelled. FFS."(sic)

Another tweeted: "Mechanical issues with the aircraft forced Rod Stewart to postpone his concert on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls Wednesday night, too."

A disappointed fan penned: "Had an overnight trip from Hell. Took my Gran down to Niagara Falls to see a concert. We check in the hotel, go down to the restaurant for dinner, and 2 hrs before the show starts, get the notification that it’s been canceled. Lovely. Already paid for the room so we’re staying."

The last minute-cancellation comes after after Rod pulled out of a performance in June on medical advice after being diagnosed with an acute upper respiratory infection that resulted in laryngitis.

The singer-songwriter later faced backlash after he was spotted at a World Cup match just hours later.

Rod subsequently acknowledged on talkSPORT that he shouldn't have gone to the game, but he didn't want to let two of his sons down.

"It wasn't a good look, I admit, but I'm going to have to just take the stick," he added.

Rod also cancelled two shows in May while recovering from a sinus infection.
