UK-based studio to fund, develop, and publish the title using experience in creative management simulation genre

Frontier Developments has entered into an agreement with Disney to work on a new title based on its portfolio and IP.

Frontier will fund, develop, and publish the game, drawing on its experience in the creative management simulation (CMS) genre.

The Cambridge-based studio is known for the Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, and Jurassic World Evolution franchises. It is also developing an unannounced Planet game based on its own IP.

"We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Disney, which further reinforces our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises," said Frontier CEO Jo Cooke.

"Our mission with this game is to connect a passionate creative community of players with one of the world's most iconic and beloved brands, and I can't wait to see what our talented teams will create with this amazing opportunity."

Frontier recently reported its second-highest annual revenue, increasing 16% to £104.8 million. Operating profit rose 44% to £19 million, exceeding the previous record of £15.9 million in FY29.

Frontier credited its "strategic focus" on CMS games for this growth, with the genre accounting for 90% of FY26 revenue.

The developer announced its shift to CMS games in 2023 because the genre delivered "stronger and more predictable returns."

Frontier's strategy is to deliver "one CMS title per year" and to support "long-term, sustainable growth through high-quality, evergreen game franchises."
