BELLINGHAM, Mass. (WPRI) — Bellingham police are asking for the public's help identifying a person of interest in connection with a burglary and assault on Aug. 15.
Officers responded to reports of a breaking and entering at a home near the intersection of Mann and South Main streets around 12:37 a.m. During the incident, someone allegedly climbed through a window and assaulted one of the residents.
The suspect was described as a "6-foot, skinny African American male" between 30 and 40 years old who was wearing a black hoodie, according to police.
Police said patrols were increased in the area and reminded residents to make sure their outside doors and windows were secured, especially during overnight hours.
In a social media update Saturday, the department shared photos and videos of someone considered a "person of interest" in the investigation.
The individual was reportedly seen Aug. 15 on Pulaski Boulevard heading toward the Woonsocket line between 12:30 and 1 a.m.
