Its candidate in the Secret Harbour state by-election in Western Australia easily defeated a Labor candidate who — with her party staffer and Woodside lobbyist background — couldn’t have better demonstrated that WA Labor is merely the parliamentary wing of the fossil fuel industry.
That Secret Harbour shares some suburbs with Andrew Hastie’s federal electorate of Canning was the icing on the cake: One Nation, its coterie of Ben Roberts-Smith fans and its far-right mining heiress backer Gina Rinehart despise Hastie for daring to give evidence about what went on in Afghanistan.
