A New York City grandmother, who vanished while on a trip to Las Vegas, has been found dead after her family received eerie texts from her phone.
Alisa Goods, 63, of Manhattan, was visiting a friend in Las Vegas when she disappeared on the night of August 8 after saying she was going to CVS.
Two weeks after her disappearance, her body was found in a drainage ditch near Harry Reid International Airport, police said.
'Our hearts are broken,' Alana Calloway, Goods' niece, said in a statement to NBC New York. 'We were notified that my aunt was found – unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be. This is an unimaginable time.'
Goods was found after someone reported finding a body near the airport.
Security footage showed the grandmother-of-five walking near the embankment when she fell down and was never seen again.
Her friend later contacted the family to alert them that Goods had disappeared and they had made a missing persons report, the family told NBC New York.
Goods' friend, Roger John, told 8NewsNow that she was on her second visit to Las Vegas this year and that he 'didn't think much' when she was not at his home.

'Sometimes she’d go out and she’d shop,' he told the outlet. 'And I kept texting and calling and texting and calling.'
Days later, the family began receiving text messages from Goods' number, asking for money and bitcoin.
'You didn't send the money,' the message said. 'Are you going to send it or not?'
Calloway said she responded to the texts asking what her supposed grandma needed money for at the gas station.
