A 51-year-old registered nurse is facing charges in connection to an alleged assault of a child with special needs who was under their care.

Members of the Windsor Police Serviceās child abuse and sex assault unit launched an investigation in April after receiving a report involving the alleged mistreatment of a child with significant medical needs.
Police said the allegations involved a registered nurse who had been assigned to care for the child.
Investigators determined there was āsufficient evidenceā to believe the child was physically assaulted in April while in the nurseās care, according to police.
As a result of the investigation, the 51-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault.
Police did not release additional details about the investigation, citing the need to protect the identity of the victim.
