All signs suggest Nintendo’s next major Direct will take place next week, and the best source for that is Ubisoft.
As we head into September, the gaming season looks set to ramp up with a stack of new releases and several major showcases.
Sony recently confirmed two State Of Play presentations will take place this Thursday, September 3, and the Tokyo Game Show is around the corner on September 17.
The one unknown at the moment is Nintendo, who typically stage a Direct in September. There hasn’t been any official announcement yet, but the date looks like it may have been leaked by Ubisoft’s Just Dance team.
Last week, the official X account for Just Dance posted a statement in response to leaks around its next instalment, called Just Dance: Decades Of Hits, which is set to launch on October 13, 2026 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
‘We’ve noticed that certain content related to Just Dance: Decades Of Hits, including visuals and gameplay elements, has been circulating online, though it wasn’t meant to be shared just yet,’ the post reads.

Ubisoft later confirmed the ‘complete picture’ of Just Dance: Decades Of Hits will be shared on September 10, 2026. The initial reveal trailer from July previously said more information would come in September, but this is the first time they have confirmed a specific date.
Just Dance games have often been showcased in Ubisoft Forward events, but since there hasn’t been any of those for a while now, they’ve instead started turning up at Nintendo Directs instead.
As such, some people believe this could be the date of the next Nintendo Direct. It seems possible too, considering Nintendo typically holds their September presentation before the Tokyo Game Show. It also comes ahead of the launch of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on September 17, so it makes sense to utilise the empty week prior.
Weirdly, this Just Dance post went unnoticed for days, although YouTuber SwitchForce also recently predicted the Nintendo Direct would take place on September 10. He’s been accurate in the past regarding Direct leaks, but he may also have seen the Just Dance speculation beforehand.
Either way, all signs point to September 10 for the next Direct. If it does include both Just Dance and Fire Emblem, it will likely be a general Direct with both first and third party titles.
That leaves it unclear whether there’d be a big reveal for the Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake, or if that will get its own dedicated presentation further down the line. Although now that autumn is about to start there’s not much of the line left.
