A changing of the guard is coming to Port Windsor, with a veteran maritime executive set to take over the helm as Harbour Master Peter Berry prepares to retire after 17 years in the position.

The Windsor Port Authority has appointed Joseph Antony as vice-president of corporate and community relations and harbour master. He will arrive Sept. 8 to begin a transition period with Berry, who will retire at the end of the year.
âHe has an incredible background in the marine industry, and weâre very excited to have him come here,â Berry said of Antony.

The new harbour master brings more than 30 years of maritime experience to Windsor, including work in port and harbour management, marine operations, safety and security, emergency management and maritime education.
He currently works for Transport Canada in a Marine Safety leadership role in Northern Ontario and is based in Thunder Bay.
