Manchester United are set to loan Chido Obi out to the Eredivisie.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that the young striker is on the cusp of joining Willem II in the Netherlands.
Obi, 18, is a Danish youth international, with over 30 caps for the junior sides, and he moved to United in 2024, leaving Arsenal.
The teenager has struggled for game time at Old Trafford since he emerged into the first-team fold under Ruben Amorim in 2025.
Most of his appearances have come for United’s Under-21s, with that side reaching the FA Youth Cup final, losing 2-1 to Manchester City at the Joie Stadium.
The youngster has not featured for Adam Lawrence’s Under-21s this term so far, and he had previously been linked with a move to the Bundesliga.
FC Koln were thought to be interested in bringing him to Germany, but they turned their attentions across Manchester to Reigan Heskey from City instead.
Now, however, Obi will get his chance to impress at senior level, moving to Holland to play for John Stegeman’s Willem.
He is able to make the move to the Eredivisie after Tuesday’s transfer deadline in the UK as the Dutch transfer window runs until Wednesday evening.
United had been looking to loan out another striker in what turned out to be a quiet Deadline Day for the club, as Everton made an initial approach for Joshua Zirkzee, before pulling out as they pursued a deal for Folarin Balogun from Monaco.
That move for the United States international ultimately collapsed, but the Toffees did not reignite their interest in Zirkzee, whose exit could have facilitated the Red Devils to move for a left-back, where they are glaringly short.
