It's that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it's sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.
Here are today's latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…
Arsenal admire Cristian Romero – but a sale to the Gunners would not be contemplated by Tottenham.
The Spurs captain remains the subject of strong interest from Atletico Madrid and Inter who had a £34.2m fee in place.
Spurs meanwhile are preparing a new long-term contract for defender Micky van de Ven.
Spurs defender Ashley Phillips is joining Middlesbrough for £7m and the deal could rise to £20m with bonuses. Spurs have also negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights into the transfer agreement.
Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign one-time Liverpool target Yan Diomande on a seven-year contract.
Real are paying a guaranteed fee of £107million for the 19-year-old, with the total deal worth up to £120m.
Yan Diomande – who was a target for Liverpool earlier this summer – has joined Real Madrid
Liverpool had an offer worth £85m rejected earlier in the window while PSG also tried to sign the Ivory Coast international. Diomande scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances last season.
Liverpool are currently working to add PSG pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.
Sporting Lisbon have agreed a deal worth around £17m for Watford forward Nestory Irankunda.
Bayern Munich have a 40 per cent sell-on clause for the Australia international and will be due around £7m.
Ousmane Diomande's move to Nottingham Forest has hit a major snag with the deal now far from certain.
