Broncos coach Michael Maguire says he’s had words with Reece Walsh after the fullback liked a social media post criticising the club and Maguire.

The Fox League Instagram post was a clip from NRL360 which discussed the messy saga around Adam Reynolds’ immediate retirement, with Walsh liking the post before undoing it shortly after.
A similar incident led to the sacking of former Broncos forward Martin Taupau last season, who liked an Instagram post which was disparaging of Maguire.
However, the Broncos coach believes the Walsh and Taupau incidents are two “different” situations.
“I spoke to Reece this morning and we went through it,” Maguire said.
“Two different scenarios. I understand there’s a like there on social media but we’ve had the conversation and he (Walsh) realises that things move quickly on social media … but yeah, different circumstances (between Walsh and Taupau).
“I’m not going to go into that (why the circumstances are different). We move forward now and Reece and I have had that conversation
“Everyone’s got emotion around these scenarios but we’re very transparent. Reece loves Reyno. We all do but sometimes things like that unfortunately happen.”
Maguire was then pressed by The Courier Mail’s Pete Badel whether he’s “lost the team”.
It’s been a horrific season for Brisbane, who are set to finish in the bottom three the season following a premiership.
“You ask them,” the Broncos coach shot back before continuing: “I love coaching this team and they know that.”
Reynolds told media on Tuesday afternoon it was his decision to hang up the boots with immediate effect.
It was a backflip on what he said almost 24 hours earlier when appearing on NRL360 on Monday and revealing it was a decision made by the Broncos’ medical staff.
“It’s sort of all new news to me. I felt like that was good but after having conversation with Madge and the medical team they thought it was the best interest to rest up,” Reynolds said on Monday.
