The festival will run from October 15 to 25, and will open with a special screening of Michael Dowse's 'The Stunt Driver'
London, ON's annual Forest City Film Festival is heading back to its home city for its 11th year of programming, and has detailed the opening night premiere for this year's festival.
Running from October 15 to 25 across multiple venues throughout the city, the festival will open with a special presentation of the new Canadian feature film The Stunt Driver on October 16, where audiences will get to participate in a special live conversation with the film's star Jay Baruchel and director Michael Dowse post-screening.
"We're thrilled to welcome Jay Baruchel and the London-born director, Michael Dowse, to the FCFF for Opening Night", Executive Director of the Forest City Film Festival Ethan Hickey shared in a release. "Opening the festival with an exciting new Canadian film and giving audiences the chance to engage directly with its creators is exactly the kind of experience we strive to offer each year."
Other highlights for year's festival will also include the speaker series, which will get intimate conversations with Canadian screen talent, the project pitch and the youth film festival celebrating high school filmmakers across the region.
The FCFF is also awarding local author and screenwriter Emma Donoghue (Room, H Is for Hawk) with the inaugural Impact Award at the FCFF Gala on October 15.
