It's fair to say Steve Smith has a pretty decent Test-match batting record.

He's scored 37 centuries, spread across Oceania, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, and is just 50 runs short of overtaking Steve Waugh as Australia's third-most prolific run scorer.

He's scored 13 centuries against England, 11 against India, four against Sri Lanka, three against the West Indies, and two each against Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa.

But there is one team he has faced without passing three figures — Bangladesh. *

His first innings 71 in Darwin was the closest Smith had got in three Tests against the Tigers, with his two previous appearances coming nine years ago in Bangladesh.

The 37-year-old, surely, with two final chances to complete the set.

* Smith has never played Test cricket against Afghanistan, Zimbabwe or Ireland.

Australia captain Pat Cummins has won the toss in Mackay and his side will bowl first.

"Wicket looks pretty good but, if there's any moisture in, might be this morning," Cummins says to Adam Gilchirst in the middle.

He says he hopes his bowlers can be a "bit more destructive" in Mackay.
