Lindsay Clancy sobbed as the medical examiner testified about her three children's injuries after she strangled them to death.
The former nurse appeared to be hyperventilating and crying as Renee Stonebridge, who works at the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, described the injuries to her children's eyes and brains.
Clancy, 36, is on trial for killing her three children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023.
Her suicide attempt after the killings failed but left her paralyzed and in a wheelchair for life.
Earlier in the day, the bloodied clothing Clancy wore the night she killed her children was shown to the jury.
Prosecutor Shanan Buckingham displayed Clancy’s dark tank top, blue jeans and gray sports bra that she was wearing that night. The clothing had been cut down the middle by medical staff who treated Clancy.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, citing postpartum psychosis, and is also suing her former healthcare providers for medical malpractice and negligence.

She made quiet gulping sounds and her back and shoulders were shuddering.
Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, objected to the witness before she was brought to the stand.
'It's not contested, it's not necessary,' Reddington said.
After Stonebridge's testimony concluded, the judge ordered a short recess.
