After wearing No. 11 for 11 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson opted for No. 31 when he joined the Dallas Mavericks. After wearing No. 31 for two seasons in Dallas, Thompson is making a jersey change with his new team, the Miami Heat. This time, he's bringing back the number he won four championships with while playing for the Warriors.
In his stint in South Beach alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Thompson is set to return to No. 11.
Thirteen players have worn No. 11 in Miami history, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. the most recent from 2024-26. Other notable players to wear No. 11 for Miami include Rafer Alston, Chris Andersen and Dion Waiters. Andersen and Jaquez Jr. wore No. 11 the longest in Miami franchise history. Andersen wore No. 11 for 181 games with the Heat while Jaquez Jr. wore the number for 216 games.
While wearing No. 11 in Golden State, Thompson averaged 19.6 points per game on 45.3% shooting from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc. Thompson was named to five All-Star teams and won four championships while wearing No. 11 in the Bay Area.
