Since announcing her split from Sacha Baron Cohen in April 2024, the Spa Weekend actress has explained how one habit of a man she dated gave her the ultimate “ick.”
The way Isla Fisher sees it, a man doesn’t have nine lives before she loses interest.
Over two years after announcing her split from Sacha Baron Cohen, the Now You See Me actress gave an update on her dating life, sharing one turnoff she experienced that made her cut a man off before he could run away with her heart.
“I have a dating ick that happened recently,” Fisher said during a sitdown with Overheard Happy Hour shared Aug. 30. “I liked somebody. His dog ran away and he chased his dog. But instead of chasing upright, he ran low with his hands outstretched—like a cartoon.”
And the 50-year-old wasn’t feline fine as she watched the man’s unconventional dog-snatching attempt. In fact, she became pawsitive she was out, adding, “The ick was growing and growing and by the time he caught the dog, he had lost the p—y.”
Since finalizing her divorce last July, Fisher—mom to three kids with Cohen—has made a couple confessions about the qualities in a man she wishes she could make magically disappear.
Indeed, she recently admitted during an Aug. 19 appearance on Australia’s The Smallzy Show that she hates when a guy wears a backpack with the front buckle clasped and how her “biggest ick” is seeing a man’s “repulsive” heel in exposed footwear.
But running posture seems to be a common turnoff for Fisher, who emphasized that an unflattering form can crash her crush.
“You know when a man runs on film and it's just like, it looks like a sprinkler moving,” she added. “It's just wrong."
As for who other men should aspire to emulate? Fisher said, "Tom Cruise has really nailed the sexy run."
While the Confessions of a Shopaholic star may know what she doesn’t want in a man, she’s also reflected how her female friendships have given her more than enough amid her divorce.
“I'm much stronger than I thought I was, and I would say that my friendships, my female friendships, have really been instrumental to me discovering or recovering that strength,” she told E! News last month. “I'm incredibly grateful.”

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher first met in the early aughts at a party in Sydney, Australia.
“She was hilarious,” the Borat star told The New York Times in October 2020. “We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party. I knew instantly. I don’t know if she did.”
