The Canadian beach volleyball duo of Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson secured bronze on home soil at the Montreal Elite16 tournament.
The 2024 Olympic silver medallists rallied to overcome Germany’s Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann by scores of 20-22, 21-12 and 18-16 to land on the podium.
Wilkerson led the way with 32 attack points and 5 block points, as well as a serve point. Humana-Paredes added 9 attack points.
The match was suspended mid-contest due to a weather delay prior to resuming.

Humana-Paredes and Wilkerson fell short in the semifinals in a 21-19, 20-22, 15-7 loss to Brazil’s Thamela Galil and Victoria Tosta earlier in the day.
The loss ended their hopes of completing a three-peat, but the Canadians will play Germany’s Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann for the bronze medal later this afternoon.
Humana-Paredes and Wilkerson won the Montreal titles in 2023 and 2025, with their Olympic silver medal in between during the Paris Games.
Canada’s Sam Schachter and Jonathan Pickett fought back to earn another upset victory in Sunday's men's bronze-medal match.
The Ontario duo defeated Norway's Hendrik Mol and Mathias Berntsen.
Schachter and Pickett dropped the opening set 16-21 before storming back to capture the next two 28-26 and 15-12, earning their first podium together on home soil.
The Canadian tandem pulled off a major upset over world No. 1s Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson to reach the men’s semifinals at the FIVB Beach Pro Tour event on Saturday.
The 39th-ranked Canadians fell short in the semifinal Sunday morning, however, losing 2-1 (21-12, 16-21, 16-14) to Brazil’s Renato Andrew Lima de Carvalho and André Loyola Stein.
