Club working with authorities to find those responsible
Hull City have condemned racist abuse directed at their new signing Robinio Vaz on social media and said they were working with authorities to identify those responsible.
The 19-year-old striker joined the promoted Premier League side on loan from Roma on transfer deadline day. Vaz’s move was announced in a social media post that garnered a high volume of derogatory comments aimed at the Frenchman.
“No individual should ever experience discriminatory abuse, and the club will provide Robinio with our full support,” Hull said. “We are also working with Humberside police and other relevant authorities to identify the accounts responsible for this disgusting abuse, so that appropriate action can be taken against those individuals.”

The Premier League said it strongly condemned the abuse and had offered its support to Vaz and the club. “We are disgusted by the ongoing discrimination players face on social media and are committed to working with clubs, authorities, law enforcement and social media companies to address this issue,” it said.
Hull have enjoyed a strong start to life back in the top flight, winning their opening two matches, and host Aston Villa on Saturday.
