McDonald’s teams from four Glasgow restaurants have collected 17 bags of rubbish during a litter-picking relay across the city.
The community clean-up took place on Tuesday, August 11, with staff covering around 4.5 kilometres as part of an event inspired by the legacy of the Commonwealth Games.

The relay began at the Sauchiehall Street restaurant before continuing to Trongate, Argyle Street and Finnieston Street, finishing at the SEC and Hydro.
Each restaurant crew handed over to the next team, creating a continuous litter-picking route through Glasgow.
The event was organised in partnership with environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, which supplied equipment and provided support on the day.

McDonald’s said its teams have supported community clean-ups for more than 35 years, with staff carrying out three daily litter patrols around each UK restaurant.
Across the UK, those patrols cover around 5,000 miles of streets every week.

Matthew Hannam, McDonald’s franchisee for the Sauchiehall Street and Argyle Street restaurants, said: "Seeing our teams come together to support this litter-picking relay has been incredibly rewarding.
