Firefox users on iOS can now get rid of a lot of ad noise when browsing on their mobile device. Following a slow "experimental" period, Mozilla is now officially rolling out native ad blocking, which you can enable once the tool is available in your app.
According to Mozilla's support page detailing the new feature, Firefox's new feature can block third-party ad networks and exchanges along with many third-party ads served on websites at the network level. It can also block ad-related trackers, pop-ups, and overlays. The platform is still letting some ads through, though: For example, you'll still see ads in search results from engines like Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo, as well as sponsored content on the Firefox Home and New Tab pages. There may also be ads that aren't covered by the EasyList filter list.
Of course, Firefox isn't the only browser to natively block ads on iOS. For example, both DuckDuckGo and Brave have built-in ad blocking in their mobile apps and also allow you to disable their own search ads. Note that ad-blocking functionality doesn't extend outside of the Firefox iOS app, but URL filters in iOS 26, along with a third-party app like Wipr 2, can block ads in other apps.
Ad blocking in Firefox will be off by default. To enable it, open the iOS app, tap the three dots, and go to Settings > Browsing. Under the Content header, toggle on Ad Blocker. You can do this from the Site menu by tapping Ad Blocker (underneath the site name and URL), which will open the Browsing menu directly. The site menu will show you at a glance whether ad blocking is on or off.
