EXCLUSIVE: Here’s your first clip for Venice Film Festival genre pic Father Joe, starring Kiefer Sutherland, Al Pacino and teen Ever Anderson, daughter of Milla Jovovich and filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson.
Sutherland plays “a man of faith who wages a violent war against Manhattan’s criminal underworld, putting him on a collision course with a powerful mob boss while guiding a young woman caught between danger and redemption.”
Director Barthélémy Grossmann’s latest film, which is written and produced by French cinema giant Luc Besson, is playing in Venice Out of Competition.
Producers are LB Production, Besson’s EuropaCorp and Sutherland. Kinology & CAA handle sales. Kinology and The Fifth Element and Lucy director Besson recently worked together on movies including Dracula and DogMan.
Swiss filmmaker and artist Grossmann made his English-language debut with thriller Disorder, also produced by Besson.
Al Pacino was unable to attend the press conference earlier in the day but sent a video message from America wishing the cast and crew well for the premiere.
