Some celebrity wax figures go viral for being unrecognizable, but Usher’s replica is capturing fans’ attention for being “too spot on.”
Madame Tussauds’ Las Vegas location unveiled its newest wax figure to Usher in a video shared on Instagram Sept. 3. Usher’s wax figure shows him posing while in the middle of hitting one of his signature dance moves.
“Wow,” the R&B singer said in the clip the instant he walked into the museum and spotted the creation.
“Look at that guy! It looks more like me than me,” he marveled as he inspected all the intricate details.
He pointed out that the artists perfectly matched his eyes.
“I’m blown away,” he added before sharing that the wax figure is sporting the same outfit he wore during his 2021 Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The look featured glittery red roller skates, black gloves and a “U” chain. The replica even had in-ears, the audio device musicians use when they perform.
“I hope that my fans who did not get the chance to see that show have a little bit of a glimpse of the magic that was there for my very first Vegas residency,” he shared.
In the caption, the “U Remind Me” singer quipped that now his fans know where to find him.
“I’ve officially made it back to Vegas permanently!!” he joked.
He also further complimented the Madame Tussauds creation, adding, “The details are crazy.”
Fans in the comments agreed that the wax figure was impressive, labeling it one of the best they’ve ever seen.
“Now that actually looks like the actual person. Have that person do all of them for now on even statues,” one said.
Another wrote, “I’ve never seen a wax figure look this much like the person. The person that made this has to be a fan.”
Others chimed in and poked fun at the recent rumors that Usher was using an imposter to perform for him at some stops on his joint tour with Chris Brown.
“See? The fans swore up and down you had a double. Now look!” one commented and included a crying-laughing emoji.
