Experiencing some day one Blood of Dawnwalker issues? Its devs know, and have some temporary solutions to help get you bloodsucking

It's The Blood of Dawnwalker release day! The debut game of Rebel Wolves and the first new game from director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz since The Witcher 3. A day of what should be celebrations for many, I'm sure, instead a day of "oh, huh, this isn't running so well on PC, is it?" This is fairly common for big releases these days, but the devs do come with some temporary suggestions for the variety of issues they're aware of.

For starters, it appears that there's a stuttering issue when the RPG is played in windowed or borderless mode. The solution to this one is essentially, "don't do that," i.e. trying to launch the game in full screen. There are also seemingly reports of the game crashing when compiling shaders, to which the solution here is updating your BIOS, with a link to help with that being offered by the devs.

Known Issues – fixes & workarounds (03/09/2026)🔸 Game stuttering when in Windowed / Borderless mode – please try launching the game in Full Screen🔸 Game crashing on compiling shaders – please update your BIOS, that should fix it https://t.co/8Bk08Ns4FD🔸 Missing option of…

As is often the case for PC releases, there's no button mapping option, albeit specifically on PS5 controllers. No help is offered on this front, just a note that they're "already working on it," so perhaps now is the time to try mouse and keyboard controls, or bust out some scrungly controller you've got hiding under your bed. Lastly, there's an issue where you stop spriting when you change which direction you're heading in on a gamepad. While the devs are working on a fix, the temporary solution is to lower the sensitivity of your controller from 1 to 0.8.

Still, I'm sure all of these issues will be resolved in time, so I wouldn't worry about them too much. Besides, Mark gave the game the RPS Bestest Bests badge of honour, so surely a few technical gripes are worth putting up with, no? Here's what Mr. Warren had to say of the game: "All in all, I’ve emerged from my first battle with Brencis with the belief that Dawnwalker’s thoroughly worthy of a seat at the table of elite modern RPGs alongside its CDPR-made cousins… It works to ensure the more busywork-esque tasks attached to angering Brencis and his Boyars never make Vale Sangora feel home to a string of boring boxes to tick."
