If ever there were an argument in favour of Netflix’s Love Is Blind “experiment”, it’d be the third season of the UK edition.

This year, not only did more couples than ever before get engaged in the pods, a record number actually made it down the aisle and said “I do” – all of whom are still together to this day.

However, because of just how much love was in the air on the set of Love Is Blind UK’s third iteration, that meant multiple couples’ romances never actually made it onto our screens.

Among them were Sammy and Jonathan, a wellbeing coach and tech recruiter who met in the pods when filming got underway last year.

Eventually, they were one of the 14 couples who got engaged in the pods, although producers didn’t select them to continue on in the process, meaning it was entirely in their own hands what happened next for their love story.

Ahead of the Love Is Blind UK finale, Sammy and Jonathan shared their journey in an emotional post, revealing that two days after making it back home after filming, things got real for them when they started texting.

Then, a month after getting engaged, they finally met face-to-face for the first time, embarking on a holiday to Malaga together to get to know one another better.

By October, they found themselves in a regular long-distance relationship… albeit one where they’d already agreed to get married before they’d even clapped eyes on each other.

“No pods. No cameras. No producers,” they recalled. “Just us actually figuring out how to be a normal couple after the least normal start imaginable.

“Back to work. Living opposite sides of the country AND secretly engaged, but unable to tell anyone. Let the real experiment begin…”

The post then charted more of the highs and lows of their relationship, including finding out that Sammy was pregnant in April 2026, before suffering a “silent miscarriage” two months later.

“We didn’t get picked to continue on Love Is Blind. At the time, that felt like the end of our story. Turns out, it was the beginning of the best bit.
