Deadline Day LIVE! All the latest news, rumours and done deals

Sanchez was expected to be first-choice goalkeeper again for Chelsea this season.

But he made two high-profile errors in Chelsea's opening 3-2 win over Fulham in the Premier League which made the club rethink their initial decision to stick with Sanchez and Mike Penders as his back-up.

The Blues then sealed the signing of wantaway Aston Villa shot-stopper Emi Martinez for £7.5million and made him their first-choice goalkeeper.

Sanchez was then informed that he could leave and he has joined Como on loan. The Italian club are in the Champions League for the first time this season and are managed by the former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

A Chelsea statement on Deadline Day read: "Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has completed a season-long loan move to Serie A side Como.

"Sanchez arrived at Stamford Bridge from Brighton and Hove in August 2023 and has made 112 appearances for the Blues.

"The 28-year-old was part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup."

Chelsea's statement added: "We look forward to supporting Rob throughout his time in Italy. Good luck, Rob!"

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Jamaica forward Dujuan Richards has left Chelsea to join AFC Wimbledon on loan for the 2026-27 campaign.
