Working a nine-to-five job is already exhausting, but what if your newest coworker happened to be a cat? That’s the idea behind Cat Secretary, a cozy narrative-driven adventure that is set to launch on Steam on November 4.

Players take on the role of DOX’s first feline employee and will have to navigate the strange world of corporate life while uncovering the company’s mysterious plan to replace its human workforce with robots. Along the way, you’ll be able to interact with office supplies, keep employee morale up, and explore the workplace at your own pace.

Cat Secretary combines its story with a variety of activities and mini-games. Players can sneak around the office to avoid robots, decorate the lobby, and take part in rhythm, strategy, and dating-focused mini-games. Quests will also push the main story forward, with a fully voiced cast of quirky characters to meet along the way.

One of them is Benjamin Gouda, a senior vice president at Mousecorp and, rather amusingly, a mouse with an MBA. Together with other characters, he is working to uncover and stop DOX’s plans for an AI-driven workplace takeover.

A playable demo is already available, giving players a chance to experience the game before launch. Best of all, progress from the demo will carry over to the full release.

With its unusual premise and lighthearted take on AI replacing human workers, Cat Secretary could be worth keeping an eye on for anyone looking for something a little different.
